We Buy PSA, BGS & CGC Graded Pokémon Slabs in Owensboro

Whether you're selling a single high-value slab or an entire graded collection, we make competitive offers based on current market data. We buy graded Pokémon cards from all major grading companies.

PSA Graded Cards

PSA is the most recognized grader in the hobby and consistently commands the highest resale prices. We actively buy PSA graded Pokémon cards across all grades — from PSA 7 through PSA 10 Gem Mint. Modern sets, vintage Base Set, and everything in between.

BGS Graded Cards

Beckett graded slabs with subgrades are a specialty of ours. BGS 9.5 Gem Mint and BGS 10 Pristine cards are among the most valuable in the hobby. We know how to read subgrades and price accordingly — you won't get a generic offer from us.

CGC Graded Cards

CGC has grown its presence in Pokémon grading and we buy CGC slabs too. We'll give you an honest offer that reflects current CGC market values — and explain exactly how those compare to PSA equivalents so there are no surprises.

Vintage Graded Cards

Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, Team Rocket, Neo era — graded vintage Pokémon cards are some of the most valuable items in the hobby. We have deep knowledge of vintage grades and population reports, and we pay accordingly.

Modern Graded Cards

High-value modern grades — alt arts, full arts, special illustration rares — are a big part of the current market. We follow current pricing closely and make offers that reflect what these cards are actually selling for right now.

Graded Collections

Selling multiple slabs at once? We buy entire graded collections in Owensboro, KY. Larger lots mean more capital required on our end — we come prepared and make strong offers on bulk graded lots.

PSA vs. BGS vs. CGC — What's the Difference?

Not all grading companies are equal in the eyes of the market. Understanding the differences matters when you're trying to get the best offer for your slab — and it's something we always walk sellers through.

PSA — The Gold Standard

Professional Sports Authenticator is the most recognized and trusted grading company in the Pokémon hobby. PSA graded cards are the most liquid — they sell faster and for more money than equivalent grades from other companies. A PSA 10 Gem Mint is the most desirable grade in the market, and PSA's strict standards mean fewer cards achieve it, keeping supply low and value high.

PSA uses a 1–10 scale. Their population reports (pop reports) track how many copies of each card exist at each grade — a low PSA 10 pop on a popular card can make it significantly more valuable.

BGS — The Subgrade Specialist

Beckett Grading Services is the only major grader that shows four individual subgrades on the label: Centering, Corners, Edges, and Surface. This transparency makes BGS slabs uniquely detailed — you can see exactly why a card received its grade.

BGS 9.5 Gem Mint is widely considered equivalent to a PSA 10 in the market, and in some cases trades at a premium. BGS 10 Pristine — where all four subgrades are 9.5 or higher — is extremely rare and often worth more than a PSA 10 of the same card. The legendary BGS Black Label 10, where every subgrade is a perfect 10, is among the rarest and most valuable grades in the entire hobby.

CGC — Legitimate, But Different

Certified Guaranty Company originally built its reputation in comic book grading before expanding to trading cards. CGC is a legitimate grader and their slabs are genuine — but the market treats them differently than PSA or BGS.

CGC's standards for a 10 grade are generally considered less strict than PSA's, which means more cards achieve the top grade and the scarcity premium is lower. CGC graded cards typically sell for significantly less than PSA equivalents of the same card — in many cases 30–60% less for the same grade. This is a market reality, not a knock on CGC's authentication.

A PSA 10 Is Not the Same as a CGC 10

This is one of the most important things to understand before selling a graded slab. The number on the label is only half the story — the grading company behind it matters just as much.

PSA grades fewer cards as 10s because their standards are stricter. That scarcity, combined with PSA's dominant market recognition, means collectors pay a substantial premium for PSA 10s over CGC 10s of the exact same card. On a high-demand card, the difference can be hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

We always price slabs based on the grading company, the specific grade, and current sold comps — not just the number on the label. When we make you an offer, we'll show you the data behind it.

How Grades Affect Value

PSA 10 / BGS 9.5 / BGS 10

The top tier. These grades command the highest prices in the market. PSA 10 and BGS 9.5 are the most actively traded. BGS 10 Pristine and BGS Black Label 10 are rare enough that they can trade at significant premiums over PSA 10 on the right card.

PSA 9 / BGS 9

Still very strong grades. PSA 9 Mint cards are highly liquid and retain significant value — especially on vintage cards where achieving a 10 is extremely difficult. BGS 9 with strong subgrades can be desirable to collectors who prefer Beckett's transparency.

PSA 7–8 / BGS 7–8

Mid-tier grades that still hold real value, particularly on vintage cards and low-population modern cards. A PSA 8 on a vintage Base Set Charizard is worth serious money even though it's not a top grade. Context and card identity matter enormously here.

PSA 1–6 / Lower Grades

Lower grades still have value — especially on rare vintage cards where any authenticated copy has a market. A PSA 1 on a 1st Edition Base Set Charizard is still worth significantly more than a raw ungraded copy. We buy lower grades too.

How to Sell Your Graded Pokémon Cards in Owensboro

Graded cards are high-value items — the process for selling slabs is a little different from bulk collections. Here's exactly what to expect.

1
Send Us Photos of Your Slabs

Text or email clear photos of the front of each slab — make sure the label is readable so we can see the grading company, grade, card name, and set. Photos of the back are helpful too, especially for BGS slabs where the subgrades are on the rear label. Reach us at (270) 883-0151 or info@toploadertrading.com.

2
We Pull Current Sold Data

We price every slab against recent eBay sold listings for that specific card, grade, and grading company. We look at real transactions, not asking prices. For BGS slabs we also factor in subgrades. We'll share the comps we're using so you can verify the offer makes sense.

3
We Come to You in Owensboro

We meet at a location that works for you — your home, a coffee shop, wherever you're comfortable. Graded cards are valuable and we treat them accordingly. We handle all transport risk on our end once we've agreed on a price.

4
Get Paid Same Day

Accept the offer and get paid immediately — cash, Venmo, CashApp, or PayPal. For higher-value transactions we're happy to discuss payment method preferences in advance so there are no surprises at the meetup.

Frequently Asked Questions — Selling Graded Pokémon Cards in Owensboro

Common questions we get from sellers before reaching out.

Do you buy all PSA grades, or only PSA 10s?

We buy all PSA grades — 1 through 10. Higher grades are worth more, but lower grades on the right card still carry real value. A PSA 6 on a 1st Edition Base Set Charizard is still worth serious money. Send us photos and we'll give you a realistic picture of what each slab is worth.

Why does my CGC 10 get a lower offer than a PSA 10?

It's a market reality, not a judgment on your card. PSA's stricter standards mean fewer PSA 10s exist — that scarcity, combined with PSA's dominant brand recognition, means the market pays a premium. Our offer reflects what your slab will actually sell for, not what we wish the market would pay. We'll always show you the sold comps so you can see exactly where the number comes from.

How do BGS subgrades affect the offer?

BGS subgrades matter a lot. A BGS 9.5 with a 9.5 centering subgrade is worth more than a BGS 9.5 with an 8.5 centering. Collectors look at subgrades closely, especially on high-value cards. We factor subgrades into every BGS offer we make — it's one of the reasons we ask for photos of the back label too.

What makes a BGS 10 Pristine more valuable than a PSA 10?

BGS 10 Pristine requires all four subgrades to be 9.5 or higher, which is exceptionally hard to achieve. On popular cards, BGS 10s are rarer than PSA 10s, and the market reflects that scarcity with a premium. BGS Black Label 10 — where every subgrade is a perfect 10 — is even rarer and can command extraordinary prices on the right card.

Do you buy vintage graded Pokémon cards in Owensboro?

Absolutely — vintage graded cards are some of our favorites to buy. Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, Team Rocket, and Neo era. First edition holos, shadowless cards, unlimited holos — all of it. Vintage grades are often worth significantly more than modern grades and we price accordingly.

How do you determine what my graded card is worth?

We pull recent eBay sold listings for the specific card, grading company, and grade. We look at actual sold prices — not asking prices — from the past 30–90 days depending on how frequently the card sells. For BGS we also factor in subgrades. We share the comps we're using so you can verify the offer independently.

Can I sell at a card show instead of a local meetup?

Yes. We buy graded cards at Pokémon card shows across KY and IN throughout the year. Check our upcoming show schedule — if there's a show near you, come find our table and we'll look at what you've got.
